In Warsaw, Carney hoped to pursue business, defense talks with Poland

Warsaw – Prime Minister Mark Carney is in Warsaw today and is expected to press for deep relations with his Polish counterpart.

The day will kick the Canadian armed forces deployed in Europe with Carney Greeting.

Later, Carney is scheduled to get Polish with Prime Minister Donald Task.

The two leaders are expected to move forward on a strategic partnership between Canada and Poland, focusing on trade, defense and energy.

Carney began his latest visit to Europe on Sunday with an undeclared visit to Ukraine to mark the country’s Independence Day.

Yesterday he is ready to meet with officials and business leaders in Germany before wrapping the journey in Latvia on Wednesday.
