CS works in Budgam in review development works; Assurances the economic change of the district

Budgam, August 23, KDC: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulu, today visited Budgam to take stock of progress on various ongoing developmental works and major schemes done by various departments in the district.

He assured all possible help in the upliftment of Budgam’s economy through timely completion of the project, saturation of welfare schemes and effective implementation of developmental programs.

Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, presented a detailed report on the District Capex budget 2024-25 and 2025-26, financial and material progress on works, status of projects and status of other major programs.

The Chief Secretary stressed whether all the schemes should be sponsored at the center or applied to the UT Capex in letters and spirit to get real benefits for the people. He instructed the concerned departments to get 100 percent coverage of all eligible beneficiaries so that no one is left.

Underlining the requirement of accountability and ground level presence, the Chief Secretary directed the authorities to inspect the field often to assess the real -time status of plans and projects, ensuring that the maximum benefits reach the target beneficiaries. He directed the executed agencies to strictly follow the deadline and speed up the speed of the ongoing projects.

The Chief Secretary asked the Agriculture Department to ensure proper functioning of Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG) and expand the farmers credit card coverage, besides increasing the production of foreign crops and vegetables.

He asked the sheep and animal husbandry departments to promote mutton and poultry production. He also asked the horticulture department to provide proper guidance to the Orchitist for maximum benefit.

The Chief Secretary directed agriculture and concerned departments to ensure strong coordination to get maximum production under HATP. He asked FCS and CA to strengthen PDS distribution across the district.

The Employment Department was assigned to increase training programs under the Employment Department, Tejaswini and Mission Youth. GM DIC was directed to support unemployed youth in the establishment of units.

RDD was asked to accelerate the completion of PMAY houses and implement door-to-door waste isolation in coordination with Pris. Education officers were asked to rationalize teaching employees and ensure functional toilets and drinking water facilities in schools.

Reviewing PMGSY, PWD and Jal Jeevan Mission Works, the Chief Secretary directed to complete the projects within the set deadline.

Atal Dulu also instructed the departments to identify the pending works under the earlier plans and eliminate them without any delay.

Emphasizing the promotion of tourism, the Chief Secretary called for proper hygiene, shocks, cafeteria and visitors to the development of Duthapathry, to Samadan and Yusmarg to increase tourist experience. He also emphasized the convergence of MGNREGA along with other schemes to provide permanent employment and create sustainable rural assets.

On this occasion, the Chief Secretary interacted with the beneficiaries of welfare schemes. He distributed approval certificates for dairy, mushrooms, apical, embroidery and agricultural units in addition to handing them over to the keys of subsidized tractors and farm machinery at DC Office Complex Budgam.

Later, along with the Chief Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, inspected three major infrastructure projects including 125-bed district hospital Budgam, 100-bedded critical care units in Reshipora and transitous housing for Kashmiri migrants in Kakanamaran Budgam. He directed the concerned agencies to accelerate work and complete it on time.

The Chief Secretary reiterated that the government is committed to the upliftment of Budgam’s economy through proper implementation of schemes, timely completion of projects, construction of new employment opportunities and promoting agriculture and tourism.

He directed the Deputy Commissioner to regularly monitor all developmental works, receive daily reactions from district officials and ensure strict adherence to the deadline.

The review meeting was attended by Agriculture, Horticulture, Education, Health, RDD, animal and sheep husband, employment, industry, command sector development, PWD, PMGSY, Jal Shakti, K.D.CL and heads of other district and regional officials. (KDC)
