Air Canada says that if the flights were canceled, more passengers for reimbursement

Air Canada says that more customers whose flights were canceled during the last week’s strike will be eligible for alternative travel and reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses.

The airline now says that people who booked their original Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge flight through a travel agency or aeroplan can request reimbursement through their online form, in addition, who buy tickets directly from the company.

This policy is applied to canceled flights, originally scheduled to depart from August 15 to August 23, where Air Canada was unable to re -book passengers who made alternative arrangements then.

Air Canada says the only exception is to those who booked their original flight on Air Canada through another carrier, as it encourages the passengers to seek reimbursement of the canceled flight through that airline, with Air Canada to cover the difference related to alternative trip again.

The company announced the reimbursement policy last Wednesday, to cover the “proper expenses” for hotel stay, food and other related costs before expanding the next day.

Air Canada operations are almost full of full capacity as it continues to ramp after the three -day flight attendants strike last week, on Saturday morning updates stated that 99 percent of domestic, US and other international flights are expected to be closed in the next 24 hours.
