Srinagar, aug 19: The Economic Offenses Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir) today arrested Kharshid Ahmed Bhat (Pathwari) S/O Ghulam Nabi Bhat, resident of Fatehpora, Ganderbal in a land fraud case.
In a statement issued, the accused, a serving patwari, is the main accused in a case, in which 7 kanals and 2 Marlus are associated with the sale of land fraud at Miza Nunar, Ganderbal. The investigation shows that BHAT, along with others, was incorrectly introduced in the form of landlords and carried out a fake sales agreement. The land was actually owned by a migrant Kashmiri Pandit and was organized by a third party under the Power of Attorney.
The complainant has already been Rs. Out of Rs 1.19 crore. 2.76 crore before searching for fraud. The statement said that the preliminary investigation has established a criminal conspiracy, including copying and fake documents.
A case has been registered under sections 420, 468, 471 and 120-B of IPC in the Police Station, Economic Offenses Wing. Further investigation is on, it was added. (KDC)
