Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services and Sports Minister, Satish Sharma recently visited Katish district to meet Claudbers and later landslide -affected families, who claimed many people and left many injured.
During his visit to the affected areas, the minister interacted with the bereaved families, expressed deep grief over the tragic loss of life, and expressed his heartfelt condolences. He assured the families that the government would increase full support in terms of relief, rehabilitation and other necessary assistance during this difficult time.
Satish Sharma also visited Government Medical Associate Katua and interacted with the injured under treatment and prayed for their initial recovery. He instructed the district administration to ensure that the victims get quick medical care and no affected family faces any delay in availing relief measures.
He said, “Claudbers and landslides in Jodh Khad, Juthana and nearby areas have created a lot of tragedy. The loss of precious life cannot be compensated, but the government is firmly standing with every affected family and will provide all the necessary assistance for their rehabilitation.”
The minister emphasized that relief and rescue operations are being on priority and the importance of precautionary measures in weak areas to reduce future risks has been emphasized. He appealed to the local population to be vigilant and expand cooperation to the administration in the ongoing rescue and relief efforts.
The minister, among others, was with Addc Kathua, Surinder Mohan; Principal GMC Kathua, Dr. Sunil Atri; And other senior officials of the district administration.
Later, the minister also visited the Army Hospital Pathankot to inquire about the good of the injured persons.
