Edmanton – Federal Conservative Leader Pierre Polevere and 213 others are dying for one seat in the House of Commons, will be in the news on Monday, as a villager in Alberta rode the elections.
Two political science professors say Pilevre is expected to win the by-election in the Battle River-Cruise, which is riding East Alberta extending from Edmonton to Calgary. The ride and its previous avatar are building a tori for a century.
They say that the only question is: how much?
“In every election from 2004 to 2025, the vote stake by Conservative’s winning candidate was at least 80 percent,” said Julie Semans with Guelf University at Ontario.
An exception was in 2021, when the conservative opinion Damian Currak received 71 percent of the vote, roughly due to some votes of the party of canada’s right -wing party, Simmons said.
“This is definitely an extraordinary strong ride for the Conservative Party,” he said.
Lori Williams, a political science professor at Mount Royal University in Calgary, said Polyv’s not only needs to win the ride, but also “decisively”, so voters can believe that he would be a good opposition leader and pass his January Leadership Review.
“He needs to exactly to raise this barrier,” he said.
“But if he cleans this one, he became clear then, ‘I am going to be an effective opposition leader in this atmosphere? How can I be the canadian and the government’s critical?”
Calling after Cursing in June in June, which won the seat again with 83 percent of the votes in the April general election, stepping down to allow the poolrere to run.
Pielevere lost its long-held Ottawa-region seat with Liberal Bruce Fan.
Semans said that if the poolyre sees less than the average percentage of votes in the last few elections, it could be due to the outstanding challenges like independent candidate Bonnie Crichale.
The military veteran described the polere as a parachute candidate who only wants to represent a ride to pursue his political career.
Poilievre was born and raised in Calgary, but has been in Ottawa for the last two decades.
Most of the candidates on the ballot are part of the longest ballot committee, a protest group is calling for various changes in Canada’s electoral system. Semans said that they can also make a dent in Polyvere’s vote share.
“For some people, this may be a protest vote against the Conservative Party,” he said.
Other candidates include Darcy Spaidi from the energy sector for liberals. NDP’s Catherine Swampi Samson is a former band councilor for Cree Nation.
Apart from this, Libeterian party candidate who runs for the seat is Michael Harris, who wants to win a referendum on whether Alberta should separate from the rest of Canada.
Thick coil-bound, 32-page laminated booklets listing records are to be available to 214 candidates at voting stations.
Election Canada has said, for the first time in Canadian history, it is using an empty ballot because there are lots of candidates to put on a piece of paper.
Voters will not mark a box with an X. Instead, they have to write the name of their favorite candidate in an empty space.
If a voter remembers the name of a candidate, the election Canada said that it will still be counted.
Out of about 86,000 registered voters, more than 14,000 people vote in advance elections.
A spokesperson for Pilevre’s campaign has said that the party leader plans to be in the largest municipality of riding on Monday in Cameros.
Election Canada said that the election night count is expected to take longer than normal.
