On August 14, a sudden flash flood hit the installment on Thursday, a person named Somnath went missing, causing shock and grief to his family.
His son, Pawan Kumar, said on Sunday that he was working in his hotel when he was flooded and had to flee for security. Later, he could not find his father, Somnath and believed that he could be a victim of flood.
Talking to Annie, Pawan Kumar said, “At that time, we were in the hotel that we had installed, and we were serving food to the tourists who came. After that, there was a sudden flood. We quickly left from there, and when we looked back, nothing was left.”
He urged the government that he continued efforts to search the police.
“When we searched for our father, he was not there; we thought he must have come home, but he was not at home. Then we understood that he was a victim of flood … Police are saying that they are looking for him, but has not been found till now. We will request the government to find as soon as possible,” he said.
Security forces have intensified rescue and relief operations in Kishtwar districts of Jammu and Kashmir, where a flash flood was triggered by a Claudbst on August 14 during the Machal Mata Yatra pilgrimage on 14 August.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) Counter Rebel Bal, Delta, Major General AP. BAL, said that all the security forces are trying their best to save more and more people from the area affected by cloudburst.
Highlighting the rapid response of the Indian Army, he said that the army reached the site within 45 minutes of the disaster.
