The city of Mississaga has obtained a temporary court prohibition To address continuous public safety concerns at Ridway Plaza, a waste-end commercial hub that has become a hotspot for large, unheard meetings and disruptive behavior.
On Wednesday, Ontario Superior Court Justice Doi gave prohibitionEmpower the city and peel regional police to implement strict control in the plaza. The step follows the growing complaints of two years and failed to negotiate with the condominium corporations owned by property.
Prohibitions targets the disturbance gatherings that have been defined Mississaga’s nuisance gathering sub-lawAnd gives the police the right to take or arrest the violars. It also forces the plaza’s condo corporations to establish parking obstacles, hiring security personnel and to prevent further disturbances.
The time of prohibition coincides with Pakistan Independence Day (August 13–14) and the anticipated ceremony for Afghanistan Independence Day (19 August), which has drew over 3,000 people in the previous years.
Mississaga Councilor and Deputy Mayor Matt Mahoni said, “Street racing, illegal fireworks, large meetings of thousands of people in a place that cannot support them, and will not be accepted loudly in the initial hours, and it’s not safe.”

The property owner refused to comment. Meanwhile, the city says that if mob control, traffic management and public safety are not given priority, it will consider pursuing more court prohibition.
