Air Canada, flight attendants enter the last day before the strike deadline

This is the last day when a possible function stoppage can complete all Air Canada and Air Canada Roose flights.

More than 10,000 flight attendants are ready to get out of the job around ET at 1 pm on Saturday, followed by the lockout by the company if both sides cannot reach the eleventh hour deal.

Air Canada said it was expecting to cancel around 500 flights, which was already determined to close in anticipation of the work stop, with a full stoppage looming on Saturday.

It said that it would inform the customers of cancellation through email and text message, adding it to the airport until they have a confirmed booking and their flight still appears as operations.

Customers whose flights are canceled will be offered a full return and Air Canada says it is allowing customers to replace their travel plans without fees if they choose to do so.

CUPE’s Air Canada component says that it is eager to sit down to a standstill to avoid a work stop, while the airline has requested the federal government’s move and directed the parties to enter into binding mediation.
