Military convoy for traveling with Ontario Roadways for Canadian Armed Forces training exercises

Drivers and residents may see an increase in military traffic with roadways in the Greater Toronto region (GTA) and in the North, Central and Eastern Ontario, which begins due to a Canadian armed forces training program later this week.

From August 13 to August 24, the Canadian Army Reserve Member from various regions of the province will visit Garison Petavawa to attend the exercise Stalwart Guardian.

“This is a major end-colored training program, characterized by fake fighter operations as part of the Canadian armed forces mission for preparations and readiness,” a release has said.

Soldiers from various Ontario communities are expected to participate in military exercises in Garison, including pedestrians, armored, artillery and signal units.

According to a spokesperson, Canadian Army Reserve personnel of 32 and 33 Canadian brigade groups operated Toronto, Peterbaro, Sudbari, North Bay, Ottawa, Petawawa and the transport and supply convoy on the roads and highways between roads and highways on Saturdays of this week.

Officials say 1,500 soldiers and their equipment will be taken in national defense vehicles and chartered buses along the routes between Toronto, Peterbro, Ottawa and Petawawa.

As a result, the drivers and inhabitants in those areas can see an increase in military traffic with Canadian army vehicles on several roadways including Ontario Highways 7, 17, 26, 41, 55, 115, 401, 403, 407, 417, and Rani Elizabeth.

“Participating soldiers will not take any weapon or ammunition” release for this annual, regularly scheduled exercise and on the specified routes of the journey.

The convoy is then expected to return to the same route on August 23-24.
