Small Point-Adam’s Kov-Blackhead-Broad-Browd Kov-Nuffindland and Labrador’s Provincial Fire Duty Officer say that the largest part of the province’s out-of-control wildfire continues to gain land, which helps from dry, air conditions.
Mark Lallor says that the fire near the coastal city of Kingston, NL on the Avallon Peninsula has expanded to about 52 square kilometers.
Loller says it is not clear how many houses or cabins have been destroyed by fire.
The dense smoke is causing poor visibility to the west side of the concept bay, says Laler, which is a challenge to assess the loss to the crew.
There are seven wildfires out of control in the province – five of them in Newfoundland and two in Labrador, but Kingston’s fire is much larger than other fire.
By Saturday, around 3,000 people or about 1,500 houses were under a provincial withdrawal order.
