J&K Youth has the ability to have social change: Sakeena iToo

Srinagar, August 11: Minister of Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sekena Itu today commented that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have the ability to bring positive changes in society and need to support them to establish a developed and only society.

The minister made this comment while addressing the validictory session of the Vikas Bharat Yuva Connect program organized by Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) at Amar Singh College here.

In his address, the minister said that the younger generation can create positive changes in the society by creating awareness about various social issues like misuse of drugs, health and hygiene. “Our youth are incredibly talented. This talent is also shown through various programs and activities, which is being conducted by Cluster University and other educational institutions under the Vacual India initiative,” he said.

He said that we need to find and tap the ability of the youth as they are forcing them to build nation-building.

The minister also appreciated the various initiatives taken by the Cluster University, in which the Wicksat India Youth Connect program accepted efforts to successfully conduct pre-events activities. The ambitious program is designed to promote dialogue, participation governance and leadership development among the youth.

He reiterated the government’s commitment in supporting young-centered initiatives. He appreciated the talent displayed by the participants during the Youth Parliament organized by the university, saying that many students could have a bright future in politics, as well as to act as agents of change in society.

In his address, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Shantmanu referred to the idea behind the youth connect initiative. He highlighted the importance of the initiative to promote love for the nation to promote love and create a meaningful contribution to the youth to make India a Vikasat India by 2047.

“Young people are inspiring power for a progressive India and such platforms help to channel their ability in creative directions,” he said.
Shantamanu also emphasized the significant importance of youth participation in furthering India’s progress and encouraged the students to play an active role in the development of the nation.

Earlier, in his reception address, Professor Mohammad Mobin, Vice Chancellor of Cluster University Srinagar, spoke about various initiatives taken by the university in recent times. These included the introduction of innovative courses, recruitment of teaching staff and introduction of PhD research programs.

Professor Mobin delayed the concept of its first cluster university in India introduced by J&K government in 2016. He said that the university was established to give an inspiration to academics and research, in which the latest job-intensive courses were introduced at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Professor Mobin also underlined the role of the university in meeting the objectives and objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, especially in the creation of a strong research culture.

In his closing comment, Registrar, Professor Syed Vilayat Rizvi highlighted the role of various stakeholders including students, university and college staff in the successful conduct of activities under the Wikiseet Bharat Youth Connect program. He offered an insight about the national initiative with the aim of motivating youth participation in nation-building.

On the occasion, the minister also saw the winners of several events including inter-college debate competition, youth parliament and poster competition on misuse of drugs, including the winners of various events organized under the Vicky India Youth Connect Program.

As part of the event, the Vikit Bharat Pledge was also administered to the audience, besides a screening of a special documentary on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, besides an AV presentation on pre-event activities organized under the program.

Dean Academic Affairs, Professor Nazir Ahmed Simanani; Registrar, Prof. Vilayat Rizvi; Controller of Examinations, Professor Khurshid Ahmed Mir; Nodal Principal, Professor Seema Naz; Principal, Amar Singh College, Professor Ajaz Ahmed Hakak; Dean, component and principal of affiliated colleges of various faculties, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Certainly, the Vikit Bharat Youth Connect program was launched by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, which wants to create a platform where young minds can share ideas, engage in policy dialogues and contribute to India’s development journey towards 2047.
