Srinagar, Aug 11, KDC: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Monday, former Chairman of Board of Governors, Dr. Mourning the sudden demise of MJ Zarabi, and expressed his heartfelt condolences to his family.

The entire NIT Srinagar community, including teaching, administrative, non-teaching staff and scholars, in-charge Prof. (HAG), Rohhi Naz, Registrar, Dean, HODS and HOCS, gathered near the main fountain park for a condolence meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rohi Naz said, “Dr. Jarabi’s knowledge and vision will guide us for generations. His contribution has left an indelible impression on this institution and the field of microelectronics.”

He said that as the Chairman of the Board of Governors in NIT Srinagar (November 2014 – November 2017), he brought deep technical expertise and strategic vision. He carefully held 9 board meetings and displayed a real commitment for remarkable foresight and development of the institute, “Prof. Rohoi Naaz said.

“Whatever was always about Dr. Turusi, he had the ability to combine scientific precision with human understanding. He listened, advised and encouraged. Is it a complex policy decision or a young student’s aspirations, he paid full attention,” Prof. Rohi Naz said.

His doctoral work was recognized with an alumni medal for the best thesis of the year, which was an early sign of the talent that defines his career.

Commercially, Dr. Jarabi became synonymous with India’s microelectronic journey. In the Semiconductor Complex Limited, he not only oversee advanced VLSI manufacturing, but also led the groundbreaking projects in Gallium Archenide Technology for Defense Applications, and MEMS under the National Program on Smart Materials.
