The police guards of Ontario have approved any wrongdoing officers in the case of a 21 -year -old man during the arrest earlier this year.
According to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Hallton Regional Police Service officer arrived at a house near Woodward Avenue and Brampton Street at Hamilton at around 6:00 pm on April 17, 2025 to carry out a search warrant at the residence.
The officials were searching for a 21 -year -old man, who wanted 16 criminal offenses, including human trafficking, child pornography and sexual harassment.
SIU says that the police received a call from a woman alleging that the suspect had posted her nude photos online and is trying to take her out.
The victim later told the police that he had seen the suspect with two guns at the first residence.
SIU wrote in a statement issued on Friday, “When the officer arrived at home two days later,” the man was alerted out for the appearance of the police “and” came out through a door on the rear courtyard and “faced by an officer,” SIU wrote in a statement issued on Friday.
He was then “pulled to the ground by this officer, and later handcuffed behind the back with the help of another officer in the backyard of the house.
The suspect was later brought to Oakville for a central lock-up facility, where he initially refused to pay medical attention.
SIU said, “However, at 7:22 am, he complained of injury to his arrest.”
An ambulance was called, and the person was taken to the Oakville Triphalgar Memorial Hospital, where he came to know about four broken ribs and a puncture lungs.
SIU reached the spot after five days and assigned three investigators in the case.
Nearly four months later, SIU director Joseph Martino issued a decision on Friday, in which any wrongdoing officials were approved.
“Regarding the force used by the subject officials during the arrest of the complainant, I am unable to conclude appropriately that it was unfair,” Martino wrote. “There is evidence that the complainant did not immediately reduce himself on the ground. [police,] The officer who informed the police about the fire scriptures in his possession will be worried. ,
He said, “When I admit that the complainant’s injuries were in physical engagement, marking his arrest, there is no basis for proceeding with criminal allegations in the case,” he said. “The file is closed.”
Officials have not released the name of the suspect.
