Canada’s 2025 wildfire season is now the second worst on records.

The latest data posted by the Canadian Intergency Forest Fire Center suggests that the fire is torn through 72,000 square kilometers, an area is almost New Breanswick’s size.

It crosses the next worst season in 1989 and according to a federal database of wildfire dating back in 1972, about half an area is burnt during the record-setting 2023 season.

This season has caused tension in fire fighting resources, thousands of people have been displaced and thousands of Canada have been displaced, which are the most burning area with Suskechewan and Manitoba.

Canada has been at its highest wildfire preparation level since late May, calling with around 1,400 international firefighters to help this year so far.

Scientists have warned of climate change, which is inspired by the burning of fossil fuels, making the fire weather longer and more intense.
