Weekend needs: Celebrate chintown and satisfy some crawings with many food festivals

Toronto’s Chinatown will be a discussion for the annual Chintown Festival with several different food festivals across the city at the end of this week.

Toronto chinatown festival

The annual Toronto Chinatown Festival will celebrate the 25 -year community and culture later this week.

During this two -day festival, anyone running through Chintown will be able to enjoy traditional dance and cultural performance and multicultural street food.

The Toronto Chinatown Festival will take place on Saturday between the afternoon and 11 pm and between 11 am to 8 pm on the west of Spadina Avenue between Saint Andrew and Sulivan roads.

Wavelling Summer Thing 2025

Two throughout the day will take live music to Trilium Park this week, including Indy Folk to Electronica.

Wavelling Summer Thing will also have immersive arts and installations, delicious food vendors, a mobile sauna and an indie market.

Taco fest

More than 200 varieties of Tacos from Toronto’s top Taco joints will be at Tacco Fest at the end of this week – as well as a lot of churos, refreshing marriages and famous tequila and mazal bar.

All attendees will have a chance to vote for their favorite Taco to crown the winner of the city’s best Taco.

The program runs from Friday to 11 am to Sunday in Fort York.

Jerkfest 2025

This will be all the things at the Centennial Park for the annual jerkafest organized by the Caribbean Promotion Arts and Culture at the end of the week.

Mouthwatering food will be performed by chefs showing Caribbean culture and shock dishes.

Horse polar

The informal kickoff for CNE continues at the end of this week, with the attached trick riding show: Horsepower Live. Two shows are being organized at CNE Horse Palace at 11:30 am and 1:00 pm.

It is free to participate and will run until 14 August.

TTC/Go Closure

Line 2 late opening

The metro service on line 2 between St. George and Chester stations will be replaced by shuttle buses between 8 am and 11 am for structural maintenance. Subway service will start at 11 am

Road closure

Gardiner Expressway Closure

as part of Long -term construction plan on Gardiner ExpresswayOne west side lanes and one east side lanes are closed between Dafarin Street and Strade Avenue. The ramp is also closed east towards the lake noise bullet in Jameson Avenue.

A stretch of gardener on the west will also be reduced by four lanes for about a year. The Westbound Lane Closure Park will spread from Lawn Road to Grand Avenue in Southern Atobicok. East -side streets with the same stretch will be compressed, but with no lane cut from April 2025 to December 2026.

Temporary off

  • Queen Street is completely closed to traffic between Bay and Victoria roads to adjust the work at a new station for the Ontario Line Metro. The closure is going to run until 2027.
  • Yong is currently decreased in a single lane between Wellington and King, which is to add new lifts for underground work in TTC’s King Station and make it a accessible station. Construction is expected to continue in 2026.
  • The Avenue West West West Multi-Eglinton Crossstown has reduced to a single lane in the west of the Isington and Scarlet Road due to tunling tasks related to the West Extension Project.
  • Lane restrictions on byvision avenue between Rohmpton Avenue and Armistis Drive, while the city road revival, curb and pavement replacement, and completes traffic signals and pedestrian upgrades. A Northbound Lane is currently closed on a byview Avenue between Kilgor Road and Rohmpton Avenue.
  • Cherry Street is closed to the south of the Poison Pear due to maintenance on the ship channel lift bridge (Strauss Trunion Bascool Bridge). Road users are capable of reaching the port of Toronto and Cherry beach via Anwin Avenue.
  • The Queens Park Crescent has been reduced to a single lane in the south of Bloor as part of the easy access program of TTC at the museum station. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
  • On Wednesday, December 31, William R. Wilson Avenue at Alan Road Wilson Avenue will reduce to two lanes in each direction, which will be for construction of Wilson TTC station bus underpass structure and part of the rehabilitation of the mezzenine bridge.
  • Blue Jais Way is closed between Front Street and Navy Wharf Court by August. Local access is maintained.
  • The Navy Ghat Court is closed between Bremer Bulleward and Blue Jais Way by August. Local access has been maintained for the residents of the Navy Ghat court. In the post -construction phase, the East Pavement and Bremmer Boleward will be closed for pedestrians and a way to make a round.
  • Isington Avenue will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes in each direction, where they on the Gardiner Expressway for about eight months, from April 7, 2025 to November 2025.
  • From Monday, June 2, the King Street East and Church Street intersection will be completely closed for the next stage of a project to replace a 142 -year -old watermelon and renew the TTC Streetcar tracks.
