Officials said Srinagar, August 2: A terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Security forces started an overnight encounter after starting a cordon and search operation in a forest area in Akhhal in South Kashmir district, with specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists there.
Officials said the operation was stopped for the night after the initial exchange of the fire between the two sides.
Cordon was strengthened and additional reinforcement was taken to the region.
Officials said that a terrorist was killed on Saturday morning, in which a terrorist was killed.
The identity and group affiliation of the slain terrorist is being ascertained, said the operation is going on.
