Former NFL players Colin Kopranic and Marshawen are attracting their attention to promote diversity and inclusion in hockey.
Members of both will join Hockey diversity coalition Alliance announced on Thursday, hosting a road hockey tournament for marginalized youth in Toronto on 16 August. The HDA is made up of current and former NHL players, with a purpose to eradicate racism in hockey, while making the game more inclusive and accessible for young people who might not be able to spend to play.
The world’s largest young Bipoc Road Hockey Tournament was billed, the program will be free for 250 youths set to participate.
The tournament expands to the work that HDA has already offered for 1,500 registered young players in the Toronto region and offered off-iS sports and educational programming.
HDA members include Calgary Forward Nazam Qadri and Pittsburgh Defenseman Mat Damba, and preserved East Minor League Travelman Akim Aliuu,
