Air Canada Flight Attendant starts voting on strike mandate

Air Canadian flight attendants started voting on Monday whether their union had to give a strike mandate.

Vote through August 5 comes after the air Canada component of public employees of the Canadian Association, in which no deal took place.

The union represents over 10,000 flight attendants who have been in contract talks for more than seven months.

Air Canada admitted the vote, saying that it was a normal step in the process of dialogue and does not mean that there would be a disruption.

It was noted that a strike could not take place until the 21-day cooling-off period after the 60-day reconciliation period ends.

The Sangh says that despite continuous efforts, major issues such as payment, unpaid work and pension are unresolved, including a union -appointed intermediary.
