US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he intends to reduce the 50-day time limit, he gave Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a three-year war in Ukraine to reach a deal that ended a three-year war, when Russia continued to bomb Ukrainian cities.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia fired an overnight barrage of over 300 drones, four cruise missiles and three ballistic missiles.
Trump said that two weeks ago he would implement “Gambhir Tariff” on Russia until a peace deal takes place until the beginning of September, as he had boycotted with Putin on the bombing of Ukrainian cities, which was amidst the Republican President’s attempts to stop the fight.
Trump said that he will now give 10 to 12 days to Putin from Monday, which means that he wants peace efforts to progress by 7-9 August. The plan includes potential restrictions and secondary tariffs targeting Russia’s trading partners. The formal announcement will come later on Monday or Tuesday, he said.
“There is no reason to wait,” Trump said about the shorterline. “We are not seeing any progress right now.”
Trump said during a visit to Scotland, Putin has “asked to make a deal. A lot of people are dying.”
There was no immediate response to Russia.
Trump reiterated Putin’s criticism to talk about ending the war but continued to bomb Ukrainian citizens.
“And I say, this is not the way to do,” said Trump. He said, “I am disappointed in President Putin.”
Asked at a news conference about a possible meeting with the Russian leader, Trump said: “I am not so interested in talking now.”
Nevertheless, he expressed some reluctance about imposing punishment on Kremlin, saying that he loves Russian people. “I don’t want to do this for Russia,” he said, but he noted how many Russia are dying in war with Ukrainian.
Ukraine has urged western countries to take a difficult line with Putin. Ukraine’s presidential chief Andrey Yarmak thanked Trump for shortening the deadline.
“Putin only understands strength – and which is clearly and vigorously aware,” Yarmak said on Telegram, Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelansky shared Bhavna.
