SIA Files Sponsor Charge sheet files in 46 kg heroin seizure, sponsored cross border narco-terraler case

Web Desk, 27/07/2025

In a major success against the narco-attitude case of inter-state and border smuggling, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) has filed the first charge sheet in Jammu over 46 kg of heroin as well as Punjab as well as more than 46 kg of heroin seizure. The charge sheet filed before the registration of a criminal case filed after the recovery of over 33 kg of heroin in the bus stand area of Jammu under the NDPS Act files more than 33 kg of heroin in the bus stand area of Jammu under the NDPS Act.

According to a statement issued here, the case was investigated by the SIA under the provisions of the NDPS Act and the illegal activities (prevention) Act, searching for the cross -terraler link.

The case originated with the apprehension of Sartaj Singh, a resident of Taran Taran, Punjab, from the bus stand area in Jammu, based on the accurate intelligence inputs. At the time of the arrest, the authorities recovered 33.580 kg of heroin from their possession. Swift follow-up investigation was identified by another accused, Amritpal Singh alias Fauji, who initially survived the scene with another consignment, but was later arrested by the Punjab Police, which led to an additional 12.626 kg heroin yield.

Due to the linkage of international dimensions and emerging terror, the matter was transferred to Sia Jammu. The investigation revealed important evidence connecting Amritpal Singh with a Pakistan-based handler, associated with Lashkar-e-A-Toba, establishing a direct narco-attitude linkage. This success was achieved through carefully employed technical, scientific and human intelligence.

The charge sheet confirms serious crimes against the accused couple and other individuals under the NDPS Act and UAPA. The case symbolizes a major success for law enforcement in the fight against drug-fuel terrorism and highlights the continuous threat issued by transnactive criminal-persistent syndicates exploiting drug smuggling routes to support terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and beyond the union region.
