Top defense officials from India and the United States held significant bilateral talks during the ongoing exercise talisman 2025 on Sunday, searching for ways to deepen strategic military cooperation, regional security coordination and operational readiness in Indo-Pacific.

As part of India’s high-level engagement in multilateral exercises hosted in Australia, the US Indo-Pacific Command Deputy Commander Lieutenant General Joshua Rood, the chairman of the heads of the heads of the heads of the heads of the integrated defense staff, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, met as a part of India’s level level level in multilateral practice hosted in Australia.

Jaishankar asked for defense partnership “one of the most resulting pillars” of bilateral relations. Jaishankar said during his meeting, “I am with you in the Pentagon because we believe that our defense partnership today, is actually the most resulting.”

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth expressed enthusiasm on continuous progress and exposed the increasing integration of India’s US defense systems in his army. He also underlined the shared vision for the expansion of industrial cooperation and defense production.

“America is very happy for successful integration of many American defense goods … Building this progress, we hope that we can complete many major US defense sales in India, expand our shared defense industrial cooperation and co-producing network, strengthen interoperability … and formally signed a new structure of US-India Major Defense Partnership,” said.

He further stated that the purpose of this cooperation is to address general strategic goals and meet India’s developed defense needs more efficiently.

The current pace of high-level defense negotiations comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to America earlier this year. During the visit, both PM Modi and the then President Donald Trump had announced a plan to sign a new ten-year structure for the US-India Major Defense Partnership.

Both countries also welcomed the integration of US -root platforms in India’s military inventory, such as C -130J Super Hercules, C -17 Globmaster III, P -8i Posidon Maritime Aircraft, CH -60R CHONUKS, MH -60R CHOWS, AH -64 EH -64 EH -64 E. 7777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777
