Senior Congress leader Jeram Ramesh on Wednesday provoked the Narendra Modi government to refuse to resume the claims made by US President Donald Trump to announce the “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan.
He said that the claims of the “ceasefire” made by Trump have reached his silver jubilee with the US President who has been repeated 25 times in the last 73 days. The Congress leader attacked the Center, which was not providing a certain date to discuss after the Pahgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.
“As the Modi government continues in its refusal to give firm dates for debate on Pahalgam-Sindar in Parliament and as the Modi government refuses to respond by the PM in the debate, President Trump Silver reaches Silver Jubilee, quarterly century marks on their claims. Follow democratic institutions at home,“ Ramesh, General Secretary of Communications in Congress, were posted on X.
Ramesh was responding to a recent statement made by Donald Trump, where he reiterated his claims of “stopping the war between India and Pakistan” in the name of trade deals.
“We have closed the wars between India and Pakistan. They were probably going to end in an nuclear war. They shot five aircraft in the final attack. It was back and forth, forward and back. I called them and I said that if you do this, I do not do more business. They are both powerful nuclear nations.
Opposition leaders are demanding that the Prime Minister addressed both houses and the nation on important issues, including the Ghadali Pahgam terror attacks and ongoing intensive amendments (SIR) exercises being carried out by the Election Commission before the upcoming assembly elections.
The opposition has also demanded that PM Modi responded to the claims repeated by US President Donald Trump to start a “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor.
The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha faced major disruption on Tuesday, on the second day of the monsoon session, amid protest against the amendment of voters in Bihar. Both houses of Parliament were postponed by 23 July. Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will meet at 11:00 am today. (AI)
