On Sunday, a landslide occurred near the Development Bridge in Samoroli village on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur.
As a result of the landslide, the upper tube was interrupted towards Kashmir.
Earlier, amidst continuous bad weather in the high reach of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army once again displayed its unwavering commitment to protect the life of Amarnath Yatris.
On the evening of 16 July, around 7:15 pm, the continuous rain triggers a landslide in Z Morah, between Royalpathri and Braimarg, resulting in the journey movement and a large number of pilgrims were stopped.
In immediate response, the army contingent stationed in Brarimurg entered the operation. About 500 yatris stranded in the area were accommodated in tents and provided with tea and drinking water. Additionally, another 3,000 pilgrims found refuge in the langars located between BRRIMARG and Jade Morah, offering the necessary shelter and livelihood.
A particularly important case included a sick trapped trapped between the two landslide-prone areas in the royalpathry. The Indian Army’s quick response teams (QRTs) carried out a challenging manual stretcher with adverse weather conditions and safely moved the patient to Royalpathry, from where an ambulance transferred the person for further medical care.
