Historical Quebec Scout Camp Conservation Land, to become an entertaining tourist destination

Mille-Isles, New Buyers of the Century Old Scouts Camp site to the north of Quebec-Montreal say that property protection will become a mixture of land and a recreational tourist destination.

Scouts Canada announced earlier this week that it has sold the Tamarakuta Scout Reserve to Entrepreneur Eric Decroaches, in partnership with Canada’s Nature Conservancy and Mile-Ails, Q with Town.

A project manager for Canada’s Nature Conservancy today told a town meeting that the organization would spend about $ 3.5 million to acquire about 82 percent of the land.

Catherine Lfebwre said the organization is acquiring more than 200 hectares, but will finish about 90 in the city of mills, about 70 km north-west of Montreal.

Opened in 1912, in 2019 the camp was closed that Scouts Canada called the years of gradual financial difficulty and expensive repair years. Scouts Canada first described the property as the world’s oldest operating scout camp.

Desochaus told the meeting that the land that is part of that part will be developed in an Ecoturism project, but has not yet given the details.
