Srinagar, July 15, KDC: In Srinagar, a local court here acquitted three accused in the 2017 murder case, while the Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) has directed to initiate a departmental inquiry against the investigating officer for “zero the investigation without sufficient evidence”.

“The prosecution evidence is full of appropriate doubt … The accused are entitled to the benefits of doubt,” the decision said.

The judge ignored the police for “zero on the accused without full evidence” and other possible suspects. The court insisted that “the investigation was not done in a proper and professional manner.”

The court directed the Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) to start a departmental inquiry against the investigating officer to conduct “the role of other suspects” and to conduct a “unofficial” investigation.

One of the accused, Shiraz Ahmed Elahi, was registered in Bhadirwah Jail, or was ordered to be released immediately if he did not want in other cases. The other two accused were discharged from the bail bond.

The case is back in 2017, when a woman was allegedly murdered under the jurisdiction of the Lal Bazaar police. The charge sheet accused Shiraz Ahmed Elahi of murder, while the other two were accused of allegedly handling the theft property under Section 411 RPC.
