As Honda returns to Indie Toronto, traffic comes with it.
The major gridlock is built in the city of Toronto with lane restrictions at the Gardiner along the road closing around the Lakeshore Boulevard, and the construction going on with the ongoing construction.
Closures and congestion on Lakeshore have started only, but drivers are already showing disappointment.
“I think it’s a bad dream,” a driver said.
Where are the closure?
The following areas are closed at least till Monday 21 July:
- -Lakeshor Boleward is closed between Strachcha Avenue and Ontario Drive.
- -Standing Avenue Fleet Street to Lakeshore.
Toronto-Danforth Councilor Paula Fletcher says the city has a limited time to complete major projects, causing more congestion than construction.
“It rained in May and June, and now it is very hot. There are only so many months that you have to fix sewers. There are only so many months that you have to fix the roads,” Fletcher said.
Further plan to close the weekend
The city of Toronto is urging the residents to leave their cars at home and do public transit when traveling at the exhibition at the end of this week.
TTC is adding additional service to select routes, however, Line 1 will be closed between Lawrence West and St. Andrew stations throughout the weekend for prescribed maintenance.
