In an important administrative development, the Department of Public Works (R&B) today ordered 20 Assistant Executive Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers (Mechanical) to be appointed as executive engineers in charge.
This has been done after a long-pending placement after much delay and was rapidly done due to the personal intervention of Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Chaudhary, who are constantly advocating career progress and stagnation in the department.
Congratulating the campaigners, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the move is expected to streamline departmental functioning and bring more efficiency and accountability to the Mechanical Engineering Wing of PWD (R&B).
He expressed confidence that elevated officers would effectively contribute to their new roles and maintain the sense of service distribution and development of infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Jammu and Kashmir Engineering fraternity expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and special thanks to the Deputy Chief Minister, who is also the PWD (R&B) minister for his continuous efforts to strengthen the engineering cadre.
