"Very close to a deal with India ... We are in conversation: US President Trump

US President Donald Trump indicated on Wednesday (local time) to arrive on a new trade agreement with India soon. Adding “probably”, he said that the US is currently in talks with India.

Trump spoke to reporters during a bilateral meeting with Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, emphasizing that August 1 would be an important day when a lot of money will come in his country.

“… We have brought more than $ 100 billion. Tariff has not kicked a large extent on 1 August, except automobiles and steel, when we have a lot of enough money in our country. We have made deals with many places. We had one yesterday,” said Trump.

“We have a one and a (deal) coming to us, perhaps with India … we are in conversation. When I send a letter, this is a deal … The best deal we can send is to send a letter, and the letter says that you will pay 30%, 35%, 25%, 20%… We have some very good deals to announce … We are very close to India, where they open it,” said.

The US President said on Tuesday that the United States is working on a deal that gives it access to Indian markets. He also announced a new business deal with Indonesia, after which the latter will face a lower tariff rate of 19 percent.

Announcing the progress on the part of India, Trump said, “We are going to reach India. And you have to understand, we had no access to any of these countries. Our people cannot go inside.
