The enforcement team of the State Tax Department, Udampur has successfully busted a fraud input tax credit (ITC) case, resulting in Rs 9,72,190 in recovery of fine.
The case was detected through detailed data analysis of 05 taxpayers, which were found issuing several bills to challan dealers in various states, incorrectly incorporating Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu -based firms on ITC.
The enforcement action was supervised by the state tax officials Babu Pardeep Kumar, Saida Akhtar under the chairmanship of inspectors Raj Kumar Sadotra and Mohit Jamwal with strategic input and guidance from Anil Kumar Chandel, Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes Enforcement, Jammu North.
This is part of the widespread initiative of the department to curb bust tax evasion and protect government revenue.
In particular, GST Enforcement Team Udhampur has realized a total fine of Rs 98.25 lakh during the current financial year, with Rs. 69.07 lakhs during the relevant months of last year.
The entire action was taken under the competent guidance of PK Bhat, Commissioner, State Tax Department, Jammu and Kashmir, who appreciated the hard work and professionalism of the team, appreciated their continuous efforts in the security of the state’s revenue.
