Carney is prominent for Hamilton to meet Steelwork to continue America's business talks

Ottawa – Prime Minister Mark Carney has been scheduled today to make an announcement related to the steel industry in Hamilton.

US President Donald Trump doubled 25 to 50 percent tariffs on steel and aluminum, as further economic insults were added to two industries in Canada.

Carney met his cabinet on Tuesday and told reporters that before that meeting he feels that Trump would agree to any business deals without including some tariffs.

Carney will visit a steel company in the city and meet the workers during his visit to Hamilton.

Carney and Trump have been negotiating a new economic and security agreement since the beginning of May, and last week Trump unilaterally pushed the deadline for reaching from July 21 to August 1.

He said that in a letter on July 10, Carney would be hit with 35 percent tariffs that day, the White House said that the current plan is to apply only on the Canadian imports not covered under the current Canada-US-Maxico agreement.

Carney says that talks with the US are likely to intensify as the August 1 time deed approach.
