Srinagar, July 16: Meteorological Center Srinagar on Wednesday estimated widespread rains in Jammu and Kashmir from 16 to 23 July, warning of potential flash floods, landslides and shooting stones in weak areas.
According to the Met Center, during this period, medium rains and thunderstorms are expected to occur in many parts of the center area. Between 18 and 20 July, the region may see intense rainfall at some places, with heavy to heavy rainfall at different places. A similar pattern is forecast for July 21 to 23, many areas are cloudy and rain is rained.
The advisory especially warns that intense rains may occur on 16–17 July and again from July 21-23, causing flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, especially in mountain and landslide areas. The public has been urged to be cautious and follow the security guidelines.
