The first rehabilitation of Alek Manoa did not enough as per the plan.
Toronto Blue Jais Wright-Hander on Monday recorded just one for the Florida Complex League Blue Jais as he takes the next step towards a return to the Big-League mound.
Manoa faced five batsmen in a minor game, struggling with his command, as he coughs four runs (three earned), a hit batter and a single on two walks.
He had a single strike in which he mixed with a change, fastball and slider. His four-borders were sitting at a distance of around 93–94 mph as he threw 22 pitches, but only 10 for strikes.
Manoa rebuilt UCL in the previous season last season in the previous season, in which he posted 3.70 ERAs in 24.1 innings.
His 30-day rehabilitation clock began with Monday’s outing, which means he could return to the MLB club in mid-August.
The 27-year-old Manoha ended in 2023 as the Sye Young Award Runner-up before struggling in 2023, where he closed between minors and big companies.
Since its major 2022 season, Manoh played only 111.2 innings for Blue Jais, holding 5.40 ERAs.
