London (AP) – A person from Australia has been accused of “malicious mischief” allegedly holding a glass case. Destiny stoneAn ancient symbol of Scottish nationalism.
35 -year -old Arnoud Herxical Logan, on Monday, appeared in the Perth Sheriff Court to face the allegation, which is similar to barbarity.
Logan, which was detected as Sydney, was not asked to enter a petition and was detained until the next week.
Police said that he was called to “disturbance” at the Perth Museum in Central Scotland on Saturday, an attempt to break the case of Royal Rock after a report of a crint-switched person.
The 335-pound (150 kg) sandstone block is also known as the Stone of Scone (Scoon)-and was used in the crown ceremonies of the medieval Scottish Emperor at the Scone AB near Perth. It was stolen by King Edward I of England in the 13th century and moved to Westminster Abe in London, where it was installed under the seat of the Coronation Chair.
It has since been used in Coronation in Abe – first the English and Scottish crowns of the British Emperor were united under an emperor in the 17th century.
The presence of stone in London prolong the Scottish nationalists. In 1950, it was stolen from Westminster Abe by four Glasgow University students, but in 1953 returned to time for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
It was given back to Scotland in 1996, 700 years after its confiscation, and displayed in Edinburgh Castle, with an understanding that it would return to England for use in the future coronation. Sensitivity around the stone meant that it was to be taken to London in privacy and in 2023 amidst tight security for King Charles III’s coronation.
Last year it was displayed in the newly renovated Perth Museum, where according to the building website, “The museum has a series of 24/7 security measures in the museum to protect this precious item.”
Culture Perth and Kinnaras, who oversee the museum, said the stone was not damaged in the incident.
