Toronto woman alleged in an attack inspired by hatred related to hunting wearing hijab

The Toronto police have arrested a woman in connection with a suspected hatred-inspired attack on the Islamophobic comment made by a woman wearing a hijab.

The incident took place on July 10, 2:10 pm, in the area of Weston Road in Finch Avenue West and North York, Weston Road. According to investigators, the accused allegedly approached the victim, made Islamophobic comments, and then physically assaulted her.

52 -year -old Roxne Ingram of Toronto has been accused of attacking and violating probation. She appeared in court on 11 July.

The police confirmed that the investigation was considered as a suspected hate-inspired offense.

Officers are urging anyone to come forward and contact investigators with information related to the incident.
