Gandarbal, July 14: People in Safapora area, including family members of a woman, who alleged that she was murdered, staged a protest on Monday and demanded strict action against the accused and urged the police to speed up the investigation in the case.
According to the protesters, a 28 -year -old woman was abducted and murdered by a relative of her and demanded a sharp police action and justice to the victim’s family. Suhail Ahmed, a member of the civil society, said, “We demand a sharp investigation and tough action against the accused involved.”
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Genderbal Khalil Ahmed Poswal attended the spot and assured the family and protesters about fast action and strict action for the accused involved in the crime.
SSP Genderbal Khalil Poswal said that a case has been registered, and investigation has been done. “We have detained the accused person and investigation is on, saying that anyone involved in the crime will face strict action” SSP said
