Man accused TTC driver of threatening with knife

Officials say the police is on hunting for a person who is accused of threatening the TTC bus driver with a knife.

According to the Toronto Police Service, the incident occurred in May 2025 in North York, near Jane Street and Yevatri Bulleward.

Investigators say the suspect boarded a TTC bus and did not pay the rent. When faced by the driver, the suspect paid the rent and then sat behind the bus.

As he was coming out, the police say the suspect approached the driver and displayed the knife threatening to cause physical damage.

After this, he took out the bus without further incident and was last seen traveling east on the Yewety Boleward.

The suspect has been reported to be 30 to 40 years old with dreadlocks with shoulder length. He was last seen wearing gray long-sleeve shirt, gray cargo sweatpant and white sneakers.

Investigators encourage anyone to contact the police with information.
