Licenses of 4 Pharma Firms Cancelled for Illegal Sale of Addictive Drugs in J&K

Jammu, July 12: The license of four drug firms has been canceled, when they were reportedly involved in “Clandstine Purchase and Sales” of drug addiction drugs in Jammu and Kashmir, an official said on Saturday.

An official spokesperson said that the state’s drugs controller-cum-licensing authority Khajuria ordered enforcement action against Healthway Pharma, Rajouri, Nuegen Pharmaceutical Distributors and NT Traders of Baramulla and Sens Pharmaceutical Distributors of Srinagar.

During the inspections, he said that four pharma installations were found involved in the sale of cladstine procurement and habit -making drugs, mainly without making compulsory sales or purchases from Tapentadol and Pregabalin neighboring states.

The spokesman said the action against the firms reflects the department’s commitment to public health and safety and its firm resolves to prevent drug abuse, especially among the weaker population.

He said that any task that contributes to drug abuse or circumference will be completed with the strongest possible action.

The spokesman said that the public is requested to report any incident of unethical practices related to sales or misuse of prescription drugs on a large scale. (PTI)
