The 7th batch of devotees depart from Nunwan Base Camp for Amarnath Yatra

Web Desk, 09/07/2025

The seventh batch of pilgrims left for the Amarnath Yatra from Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam on Wednesday. Devotees expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and prayed for peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.

The scene of the site showed the pilgrims on their spiritual journey towards the holy cave pilgrimage of Lord Amarnath.

Deepa, a pilgrim from Bhopal, welcomed the arrangements made for the yatra and said that she would pray for the good of all.

“Vibes are very positive here … I will pray for everyone’s good. Everyone can be healthy. The system here is very good,” he said to ANI.

Another devotee from Delhi, Kamal echoed similar feelings. “I will pray for everyone’s peace and goodness. The system here is very good,” he said.

Meanwhile, free anchor (community kitchen) services continue to support the path of pilgrims, especially at several places with Jammu Base Camp and National Highway.

Virendra Kumar Sharma, who has been organizing anchor facility for the last 17 years, said, “We have been running this anchor for about 17 years, and this is completely free service. People come from far-flung places, and whoever comes here, surrender to it and there are many langars in the city, but it is nothing,”

For the first time pilgrim Siddharth Aggarwal praised the efforts of security personnel along the route. He said, “I am here for the first time.

The 38-day annual Amarnath pilgrimage started on July 3, 2025 at the 3,880-meter holy cave pilgrimage site in South Kashmir, and will match the protecting on 9 August 2025.

The pilgrimage is taking place simultaneously through both the Pahgam Marg (Anantnag District) and the Baltal Route (Genderbal District).

The Amarnath Yatra is an annual pilgrimage for the Amarnath cave, where devotees pay homage to a snow stalgmite, which is considered the lingam of Lord Shiva.

Stelagmite of ice is formed every year during the summer months and reaches its maximum size in July and August, when thousands of Hindu devotees perform an annual pilgrimage to the cave. (AI)
