Police say more than 3,000 tickets were handed over during two -week enforcement blitz, targeting the “no stopping” zone in the city Toronto, and more than 240 vehicles were kept during two -week enforcement Blitz.
The joint initiative between the Toronto Police Service and the city of Toronto took place from 16 June to 27 June, as part of the instructions of a city council, which was aimed at reducing the crowd in the high-traffic corridors during the peak week’s days.
According to the police, parking enforcement officers focused on their efforts from 3 pm to 7 pm – the afternoon – when the illegally stopped vehicles could have the most impact on the traffic flow. This enforcement occurred in the city’s downtown core, a hotspot for gridlock and lane oblivions.
During the first week of the campaign, from 16 to 20 June, the authorities issued 1,760 tickets and touched 133 vehicles. The next week, from 23 to 27 June, another 1,460 tickets were laid, and 112 vehicles were towed.
In total, 3,220 tickets were issued, and 245 vehicles were removed. Drivers caught in “No Stopping” zone were fined $ 190.
City officials say Blitz was part of a wider Mob management plan And especially emphasized the importance of the following traffic signals of traffic signals posted to help push roads forward during busy travel time.
While this blitz is wrapped, the police say the enforcement will continue, and by the end of September, the future rift is expected.
“While the campaign has been concluded, it is paramount that the drivers continue to follow the rules while traveling on our streets,” TPS said. “Our parking enforcement officers will continue to implement the bylaws to keep the city roads and people safe. Follow the rules to get tickets or avoid towing and protect their roads that use them for everyone.”
