Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the session on the ‘Global rule of peace and security and reform’ at the 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil, condemned terrorism as a “serious threat to humanity”, underlined the need for immediate reforms in global institutions and exposed India’s commitment to the global south according to external matters.
MEA Secretary (Economic Relations) Dummi Ravi, during a special media briefing on Sunday (local time), the Prime Minister’s comment came in terms of discussion on peace, security and multilateral reforms. PM Modi also welcomed United condemnation by BRICS members in Pahgam on 22 April.

He reiterated that global organizations of the 20th century lacked the ability to deal with the 21st century challenges. Therefore, he underlined the importance of improving multilateral organizations.”

Speaking about the future of BRICS, Ravi said that PM Modi emphasized that the group could help shape more balanced global order.
