Satish Sharma advocates digital empowerment, FTII Traders Conclave 2025 in Youth LED Entrepreneurship

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS and CA), youth services and sports, and information technology, for Satish Shram, today underlined the importance of digitally empowering local traders and integrating the youth in the initiative of entrepreneurship.

He was speaking at the FTII Traders Conclave 2025.

The Conclave organized by the Federation of Trade and Industry of India (FTII) at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) in Srinagar was organized under the banner of “Wocal for Local” to promote indigenous trade and entrepreneurship.

The Union Minister, Poyush Goyal also participated in the Conclave for the Union Commerce and Industry; Chairman National Traders Welfare Board, Sunil Sinhi; Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Ghulam Ali Khatana; Commissioner Secretary, Industry and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh and other senior officials.

“The convergence of business, digital technology and youth innovation is important towards the creation of a self -reliant and rich Jammu and Kashmir. Through our IT initiative, we aim to simplify business processes and ensure transparency in consumer services. Also, we are working to encourage our youth to become job makers instead of jobmakers.”

He highlighted that FCS and CA department is actively modernizing public distribution and consumer grievance redressal mechanisms using IT equipment. He said that better digital infrastructure is also enabling the department to empower both consumers and traders equally.

Satish Shram emphasized the important need to create a young-managed economic culture through entrepreneurial cells, sports and youth welfare programs and skill training under digital skilling platforms. The minister said, “We should tap the capacity of our youth to convert border districts and trade hubs into innovation centers.”

The minister confirmed the government’s commitment to protect consumer interests, extending platforms for streamlining digital services and connecting youth in business and sports sectors. He appreciated FTII for hosting the Conclave in Kashmir and promoting a platform for local voices to listen to the national level.

The program included interactive sessions with policy makers, business leaders and young entrepreneurs with networking and professional linkage features.
