Police say a child died after drowning in the St. Lawrence River near Kingston, Onts on Friday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police says that he was called to Volf Island at around 9:30 am after he was found to have a non -individual child in the river.
They say that family members and the first respondents started life-saving measures and the child was brought to a trauma center.
The OPP says the child was later declared dead in the hospital.
Police say they are not releasing any additional information with the honor of the confidentiality of the family.
