After investigating several incidents of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), two 18-year-old people are facing allegations, where rocks were thrown on the moving vehicles-an accident led to an accident in an example resulting in a deadly injuries to two people.
Investigators say that rocks were thrown several times between Friday, Septemer 20, 2024 and Sunday, Novmer 30, 2024.
“One of these incidents resulted in a serious collision, which caused two persons to face deadly injuries,” said the OPP release.
“In another incident, a rock was thrown into a windshield of a bus on highway 48 to the north of Major McKenzie Drive in Markham. No injury was received. Similar incidents were also reported under the jurisdiction of York Regional Police (YRP).”
Two people, one from Markham and one from Richmond Hill, were arrested on July 2, 2025, and an increased attack, endangering mischief and mischievous damage to property.
The suspects were not named as investigators say they were both young at the time of alleged crimes.
Both suspects were released and will appear in court later.
