Srinagar, July 3: Chief Minister, along with Minister of Jal Shakti Javed Ahmed Rana today flagged off a fleet of 10 water tankers from Civil Secretariat, Srinagar.
This particular initiative has been specially taken to ensure adequate water supply during Muharram.
The objective of this initiative is to increase water supply services in the Kashmir Valley, especially due to the development of peak summer demand or the development of the ongoing infrastructure in stress areas, there is temporary disruption in piped water distribution.
The program saw the presence of Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, several MLAs, senior officials of the Water Power Department, Representative of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Wing, advisor for others.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah emphasized the government’s commitment to ensure safe access for safe and clean drinking water in Jammu and Kashmir.
Water Power Minister, Javed Ahmed Rana, in his comment said that the tankers will be strategically deployed in areas that experience water scarcity and will work in coordination with local administrative units to ensure timely distribution.
The Chief Minister also appreciated the presence of elected representatives on the occasion, stating that such collective participation underlines the inclusive and responsible approach to the government’s rule.
