Individuals killed on highway 401 shoulder in eastern Ontario: OPP

The Ontario Provincial Police in Leeds County is investigating a deadly collision on Tuesday morning on Highway 401 between Malarytown and Landsdown.

Police say they received a report at around 5:30 pm that a person who came out of his car was killed by a moving vehicle, while the road was killed on the road to the road west of the highway.

They say that the East Traffic Accident Management and Enforcement Unit participated in the scene, including the OPP’s technical traffic collision investigation unit and an OPP collision reconstructive.

Police say they have identified the victim, but will not release their identity to protect the family’s confidentiality.

They say that a post mortem examination has been ordered in the near future.

The highway remained closed for several hours to allow for intensive investigation, but has since opened again.
