Eam Jaishankar, US Energy Secretary Right discusses opportunities for deep energy partnership

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a meeting with US Energy Secretary Chris Wright at Washington, DC on Tuesday (local time) and talked about energy change in India. The two leaders discussed opportunities for a deep energy partnership between the two countries.

In a post shared on X, Jaishankar said, “A useful interaction with US @Secretarywright at Washington DC this evening. Talked about energy change in India. And an opportunity for a deep Indo-American energy partnership.”

Eam Jaishankar met US Defense Secretary PT Hegaseth in Pentagon, where he highlighted the strategic importance of Indo-American defense relations, describing them as “one of the most resulting columns” of bilateral relations.

Jaishankar posted on X, “Washington DC today had a great conversation to meet @Secdef Pete Hegseth. There was a productive conversation on advancing the Indo-American defense partnership, building on the growing convergence of interests, abilities and responsibilities,” Jaishankar posted on X.

Jaishankar is on an official visit to the US on the invitation of US State Secretary Marco Rubio. During the journey, he participated in a meeting of Quad Foreign Ministers (QFMM).

In a post on X, Jaishankar said, “A very productive meeting of quad foreign ministers at Washington DC was completed. Discussed how the quad should be made more focused and impressive on contemporary opportunities and challenges. Today’s assembly will strengthen strategic stability in Indo – Prashant and keep it free and open.”

Em Jaishankar met US State Secretary Marco Rubio on the edge of a quad foreign ministers’ meeting (QFFM) in Washington and discussed bilateral partnership between the two countries in the fields of security, important technologies, connectivity, energy and dynamics.

Sharing a post on X, Jaishankar said, “A joy meeting, on the occasion of a meeting of @Secrubio, quad foreign ministers. Discussed our bilateral partnership, including trade, security, important technologies, connectivity, energy and dynamics. Regional and global development.”

S Jaishankar also met his Australian counterpart Penny Wong on the banks of the summit.

Jaishankar wrote on X, “It is best to hold with FM Penny Wong of Australia. Our discussions were reflective of our widespread strategic partnership confidence and comfort.

Em S Jaishankar held a bilateral meeting with his Japanese counterpart, Takeshi Evea on the occasion of QFMM, focused on the preparation of the annual India-Japan Prime Minister Summit later this year.

In his initial comments, Jaishankar believed in adding dynamics between the two nations and the quality of relations between the two nations during the upcoming summit.

“Last month, our Prime Minister – Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Ishiba had the opportunity to talk on the occasion of the G7 Summit in Canada, and we are now preparing for our annual summit in Japan, and we are very confident that we can add dynamics and the quality of our relationship,” Jeshankar said.
