On Monday (US local time), External Affairs Minister K Jaishankar inaugurated an exhibition at the United Nations on ‘The Human Cost of Terrorism’. In the exhibition, he noticed how terrorism is a serious threat to humanity and how it should be dealt with an iron fist, standing together with the world and not the yield of nuclear blackmail standing against issues such as impurities for terrorists.
In the exhibition, he reminded how the United Nations Security Council issued a strong condemnation of a drunk Pahgam terror attack, which took place on 22 April in Pahgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In response, India launched Operation Sindor on 7 May.
The Indian armed forces launched targeted attacks against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in more than 100 terrorists’ deaths, Jai-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Tabiba, and Hizbul Musunj.
In his remarks at the United Nations Headquarters, Eam Jaishankar said, “Terrorism is one of the biggest threats for humanity. It is all that the United Nations, stands for human rights, rules and norms, and nations should support their behavior with each other. It is a way to say it publicly and a way to do so is that it is on a global society.”
He further said, “Five weeks ago, the United Nations Security Council issued a strong condemnation of a particularly frightening work of terrorism in Pahalgam. Demanded that its criminals be held accountable and brought for justice. We have since seen that they have not seen for some basic concepts. And no produce for atomic blackmail.”
In his closing comment, he said, “Any state sponsorship should be exposed and it should be counted. So far, we are well aware that terrorism is a threat to peace anywhere. Guide that understanding our collective thinking and response. This exhibition is a suitable remit of challenge before us”.
In an official statement, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is visiting America at the invitation of the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio to participate in the Ministry of External Affairs (Mea).
Last week on Thursday (US local time), during the briefing of the US State Department, the US State Department chief sub-speaker Tommy Pigot said about the meeting that the summit “would manufacture at the pace to pursue an independent, open and safe Indo-Pacific.”
