A 19 -year -old man has admitted to spraying chicken manure on the streets of Ballimana in a strange “protest act” against the inauguration pride parade of the city.

From Isaac Adams, Lislabon Road, Clofmals, the Cololereen Magistrate appeared before the court on Monday morning after the incident. He faces allegations of criminal damage, holds a lock knife, and accumulates manure on the road.

The court heard that Mr. Adams was arrested by the police in the “Red-Hand” in the early hours of Saturday, wearing a Balaklava and two empty 25-liter jaggery which included manure. He allegedly told the officials that his work was a protest against the city’s first Gaurav incident, which was scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

The accused is a maintenance engineer and works on the family farm and was wearing trousers working at the time of the incident, including a lock knife.

The court heard that the incident was held on messages and phone calls.

Adams was granted bail under several conditions, which included he at a address in Lislabon Road in Clomils, not to enter Ballimena, does not have a capable phone in internet access, and remains under curfew between 11 am and 5 pm.

Adams was warned that violating his bail terms would not be considered a mischief.

A 20 -year -old man who was also arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
