Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday visited the Nanwan Base Camp in Pahgam to review the preparations and arrangements for the smooth conduct of the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
During the journey, the Lieutenant Governor inaugurated the overbridge of a newly constructed foot in the camp, which was aimed at facilitating the uninterrupted movement of pilgrims. The foot overbridge is expected to increase the efficiency of safety checks and reduce the waiting time for the devotees going towards the holy cave.
Speaking on the occasion, LG Sinha said, “The foot overbridge will not only help manage pilgrim flow effectively, but will also ensure a safe and more organized movement, especially during peak hours.”
He reiterated the administration’s commitment to provide all the necessary facilities to Yatris and emphasized the coordination between all stakeholder agencies to ensure a safe, smooth and spiritual pilgrimage.
The Shri Amarnath ji Yatra is going to start soon, and the final touch is being given to the infrastructure, medical, logistics and security arrangements at all base camps and N routes.
